# Quickstart Guide

This guide walks you through setting up Scorsync Live from start to finish. If you have questions, reach out at support@scorsync.com.

# 1. Create Your Scorsync Account

Register for a free account at scorsync.com/register (opens new window).

If you use the same email as your USA Gymnastics account and selected Scorsync as your Meet Reservation Vendor, your sanctioned meets will be imported automatically.

# 2. Create Your Meet

If your meet wasn't imported automatically:

  1. Log in to scorsync.com (opens new window)
  2. Navigate to Meets (opens new window)
  3. Click Create Meet
  4. Fill in your meet details, including the Sanction ID

You cannot run Scorsync Live without a valid Sanction ID.

# 3. Download and Install Scorsync Live

Download the latest version from scorsync.com/tools (opens new window).

For ProScore users (Windows): You must also install the ODBC Driver for NexusDB (opens new window). This driver enables Scorsync Live to read scores from ProScore's database.

# 4. Log In to Scorsync Live

  1. Launch Scorsync Live
  2. Click Login in the top-right corner
  3. Enter your email and password
  4. Click Login

Verify: Your name appears in the navbar dropdown after successful login.

# 5. Configure Your Database Connection

If Scorsync Live is on the same computer as your scoring software, the default settings should work. Otherwise, configure the connection:

  1. Click the settings icon (⚙️) in the top-right navbar

  2. Select your Scoring Software:

    • ProScore for Windows/ProScore TNT
    • TScore for macOS/TScore
  3. Configure connection settings:

    ProScore Settings:

    Field Default Description
Server 127.0.0.1 IP address of the ProScore computer
    Port 16000 NexusDB server port

    TScore Settings:

    Field Default Description
Server 127.0.0.1 IP address of the TScore computer
    Port 5432 PostgreSQL server port
    Username postgres Database username
    Password postgres Database password
  4. Click Test Connection

  5. Click Save

Verify: The connection test shows a green success indicator on each field.

# 6. Select Your Meets

Back on the main screen:

  1. Select your meet from the ProScore/TScore Meet dropdown

    • Click the Refresh button if your meet doesn't appear
    • If you see "Could not connect to database", check that your scoring software is running
  2. Select the matching meet from the Scorsync Meet dropdown

    • This should match the meet you created in Step 2
  3. Select the Round:

    • Prelims (default)
    • Semi-Final
    • Finals
    • Final One
    • Final Two
  4. Click Open

Verify: Both dropdowns show your meet name and the Open button becomes active.

# 7. Validate Meet Data (ProScore)

Before going live, verify your data on these tabs:

# Clubs Tab

Ensure every club has a USAG number. Missing numbers will prevent proper athlete-to-club association.

To import club numbers:

  1. Navigate to the Clubs tab
  2. Click Import
  3. Select the Club Export CSV from USA Gymnastics Meet Reservations
  4. Verify numbers populated in the USAG Number column

# Synchro Tab

Synchro pairs need their athlete IDs in the format ID1-ID2 (e.g., 1234567-7654321).

To import synchro pairs:

  1. Navigate to the Synchro tab
  2. Click Import
  3. Select the GroupPairExport CSV from USA Gymnastics Meet Reservations
  4. Click Save All to persist changes

# Start Lists Tab

Send your start lists to Scorsync before going live:

  1. Navigate to the Start Lists tab
  2. Check Push athletes first (required for initial upload)
  3. Click Send Start List
  4. Wait for the progress bar to complete

Warning: When re-sending start lists, always check Erase current start lists on Scorsync first. Otherwise, athletes will be duplicated.

# 8. Start Live Scoring

On the Meet tab:

  1. Configure update settings:

    Setting Default Description
Max Results per Push 50 Number of results sent per API call (1-300)
Update Frequency 5 seconds How often to check for new scores (5-120 seconds)

For busy meets, increase the frequency to 20-30 seconds to reduce server load.

  2. Click Start Live Updates

Verify: The Activity Log on the right shows scores being pushed with timestamps and ✅ indicators.
