# Setup
The process for setting your meet up to run Scorsync is designed to be as simple and straightforward as possible. As a meet host/scorekeeper, you're responsible for a heavy list of todos. Scorsync aims to enhance your experience, but does require a quick setup so that you can get your meet underway with all the great features that it provides.
# Terminology
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Synchro Pairs | Two athletes competing together in synchronized trampoline. Scoring systems often store them as a single entry with combined names. |
| Club Matching | The process of associating athletes with their official USA Gymnastics club ID, ensuring consistent club identification across meets. |
| Scanner | The live score monitoring feature in Scorsync Live that watches for new scores in your scoring software and pushes them to the cloud. |
| Sanction ID | The official meet identifier assigned by USA Gymnastics when you sanction your meet. |
# Creating Your Meet
If you use the same email address for your Scorsync account as well as your USA Gymnastics account, you should be able to skip this step if you selected Scorsync as a Meet Reservation Vendor. When you sanction your meet with USA Gymnastics, Scorsync is automatically alerted and imports your meet if it doesn’t already exist.
Logged into your Scorsync account, visit the Create Meet (opens new window)page. Fill out all of your meet details to create your meet.
Note: If you do not have a sanction ID yet, leave it blank, however, you will not be able to run Scorsync Live without the proper Sanction ID.
Once you have created your meet, feel free to go back and edit it at any time.
# Pre-Meet Setup
Start up Scorsync Live and connect to your Scoring System. Once you’re logged into your Scorsync account, you should see your new meet in the dropdown. Select it and click the Create button.
If this is your first time opening Scorsync Live for this meet, navigate to the Setup tab. This tab will guide you and perform some checks to ensure that your meet is configured properly. Listed below are some checks that will happen automatically.
# Synchro
Many scoring systems treat synchro pairs as a “single athlete” and simply combine the names of the athletes for display. Because Scorsync tracks the history of athletes’ competitions, synchro results would naturally be lost as a result. In order to resolve this, Scorsync parses the synchro data to resolve the competitive IDs of each athlete so that the synchro competition result is tied to each athlete individually.
In order to accomplish this, Scorsync Live pulls the synchro information from the USA Gymnastics Meet Reservation.
In order to do this, an internet connection is required at that time for the process to work correctly.
# Club Matching
Scoring systems don’t always store the Club ID. The Club ID is important, however, to associate athletes with their respective clubs on Scorsync. This presents a problem when club names slightly differ from meet to meet (e.g. World Elite vs World Elite Gymnastics). Scorsync solves this by using the meet registration information that USA Gymnastics provides.
In order to do this, an internet connection is required at that time for the process to work correctly.
# Start List
Only ProScore at the moment
Click the Send Start Lists button to send all of the start lists whenever any changes are made. Many improvements are coming to the start lists feature so stay tuned for updates.
# Running Your Meet
On the Live tab, click Start to begin the scanner. The scanner polls your scoring software database at regular intervals (configurable from 5-120 seconds) and automatically pushes new or updated scores to Scorsync.
To start live scoring:
- Navigate to the Live tab in Scorsync Live
- Select the round (Prelims, Semi-Final, Finals, etc.)
- Click Start to begin pushing scores
- Leave Scorsync Live running throughout your meet
The interface displays a log of scores being pushed, along with any errors encountered. If you see consecutive errors, check your database and network connections.

# Testing
If you would like to test the process prior to the start of the meet, flip the Test Mode switch on. This will allow you to input fake scores and watch the results populate on scorsync.com to ensure that everything is working properly. In order to see the results, you will need to be logged into the account that was used to create the meet and flip the Testing Mode switch to On on scorsync.com as well.
No one except for the meet host will be able to see test results and they will be deleted automatically every night.
# Troubleshooting
# Connection Issues
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| "Cannot connect to database" | Verify the scoring software is running and the database server is active. Check the IP address and port in settings. |
| "Test Connection failed" | For ProScore: Ensure the ODBC Driver for NexusDB is installed. For TScore: Verify PostgreSQL is running. |
| Scores not appearing on Scorsync | Check your internet connection. Verify you selected the correct meet in both dropdowns. |
# Synchro/Club Matching Issues
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Synchro pairs not resolving | Ensure you have an internet connection. Verify the USA Gymnastics IDs are entered correctly in format "ID1-ID2". |
| Clubs showing without IDs | Import the Club Export file from USA Gymnastics Meet Reservations, or manually enter club numbers. |
# Start List Issues
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Duplicate athletes on Scorsync | Check "Erase current start lists on Scorsync" and resend. |
